Correlation Between Dry Eye and Screen Viewing Time Among Young Adult

Screen use especially computers, phone and other visual display devices are now an essential part of our daily life. With the increased use, a large population is experiencing ocular symptoms globally such as dry eyes, eye strain, irritation redness eyes. This study determined correlation between screen viewing time among young adult in Madonna university teaching hospital. observational cross-sectional with 100subjects. 50(50%) male 50 (50%) female within ages 18-32years. A total 100 questionnaire were collected, quantitative approach was used to determine using schimer’s strip data analyzed Pearson chi-square. The discovered percentage age group participant which 53(53%) fell 23-27 years 28(28.0%) males 25(25%) females, while 18-22years 38(38%) 18(18%) 20(20%) 28-32years 9(9.0%) 4(4.0%) 5(5.0%) females. showed that mean 23.18 standard deviation ±3.160. gotten for 21.43±10.96. also distribution participants duration 4-6hours highest occurring 38(38.0%), 7-9hours 25(25%), 1-3hours 19(19%) above 9hours least 1.42 ± 0.997. Correlation respect gender, (p=0.00, p<0.05) relation from (p=0.051, p< 0.05), 23-27years (p=0.017, 28-32 (p=0.126, chi-square 0.00 p<0.05). In conclusion there statistical constant users. researcher recommends proper orientation institutional education on usage
